Behind the Wheel: Gret Radomski on Curiosity, Robotics, and Finding Your Flow

July 29, 2025
wheel.me

At wheel.me, we like to say our wheels can move anything. However, it’s actually the people behind the scenes who really move the company forward. In this edition of Behind the Wheel, we catch up with Gret Radomski, who started here as an intern and quickly became one of the driving forces behind our business development efforts in North America. We talked about how he got here, what surprised him most about robotics, and how a good golf swing can be just as important as a great go-to-market plan.

Let’s start at the beginning – how did you first get into business development and robotics?
“I got involved in business development when I was studying business at Michigan State University. I started working part-time for the Centrepolis business accelerator, and the experiences I got there really accelerated my passion for it.

That passion led me to transfer to Lawrence Tech University to get closer to high-tech companies while I was still in school. I had the chance to work with different startups and scale-ups, which helped me learn a lot about different industries and how to develop a business at a very quick rate.

It was around then that I first heard about Industry 4.0 and came across wheel.me. What stood out was the fact that wheel.me chose Michigan as its entry point into the U.S. market. That made a big impression. And I saw huge potential for our autonomous wheels to help in so many different manufacturing environments.”

You joined wheel.me as an intern. What surprised you most at the start?
“One thing that surprised me about working in robotics was how much thought goes into deployment. You don’t just drop a robot into a space and go. There are so many factors you need to consider when integrating it into a new environment – the physical space, the workflow, the technical constraints. It’s way more involved than it looks from the outside.”

You’ve been involved in everything from sales to operations and strategy. What’s one project or moment that stands out for you?
“One project that really stands out to me is working with our tech team to strategize new generations of our product. Cross-examining technical feasibility and market research to pull together a foolproof business case is something I found really interesting – it allowed me to learn a lot more about the engineering side of the business.”

What keeps you motivated day to day?
“The variety. I get to work on so many different parts of the business, and because of that, a lot of what I do stays fresh. Plus, wheel.me’s tech is like nothing else out there, and the industry is always evolving. That makes the day-to-day really interesting and keeps me motivated to do everything I can to make sure the company excels.”

What do you do to reset and recharge? Do you have any fun summer hobbies?
“I like to get out on the golf course, fish, read, and play hockey whenever I can. Those things help me reset and keep a good work-life balance, especially in the fast-paced environment we’re in.”

Gret’s story is a reminder that when curiosity meets opportunity and a little startup hustle, big things can happen. He’s a key part of how we’re building automation that fits, and we’re lucky to have him behind the wheel.
