About wheel.me
At wheel.me we build robotics infrastructure from theground up, combining custom hardware, embedded systems, real-time robotics software, and cloud-based management tools. Our core innovation, Genius, is the world’sfirst autonomous wheel, transforming ordinary equipment into intelligent mobilerobots that operate safely and efficiently in real-world environments. Designedand manufactured in Norway, our systems are deployed to customers worldwide.
The role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join ourrobotics team and build the software that brings our autonomous robots to life. You will design and implement features that give our mobile robots safe, intelligent behavior in industrial environments, working close to both therobot and the teams around it: embedded, mechanical, fullstack, and DevOps.
This is a delivery-focused role in a fast-moving,sprint-based environment, where you own your work end to end and care that whatyou ship is reliable.
Experience
• 3+ years as a software engineer in a product environment.
• Some exposure to real-time systems, and an interest indeepening it.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with teams such asembedded, mechanical, fullstack, and DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Scrum or similar agileframeworks: sprint planning, estimation, release planning, and a track recordof delivering working software on a regular cadence.
• Bonus: experience from scale-up environments, robotics, orautonomous systems.
Technical skills
• Strong proficiency in C++ (required); Python is a plus.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Git, CI/CD, and code review as part of daily work.

• Design and implement scalable interfaces for autonomy, perception, sensor fusion, and hardware interaction.
• Write clean, maintainable code for real-time roboticapplications, and optimize for performance, reliability, and safety in liveenvironments.
• Own tasks across the full lifecycle, from scoping andestimation to delivery and follow-up.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams, contribute to codereviews, documentation, and technical decisions, and troubleshoot systemsrunning in production.
What we are looking for
