wheel.me presented their newest version of the autonomous wheel at Automate 2022 and announced plans of opening up an office in the U.S. Attracting a lot of attention with the demonstration of the autonomous wheels, the visitors highlighted the innovative nature of the solution and the potential to disrupt the robotics industry in America and beyond.
Automate 2022, North America’s largest largest automation tradeshow, brought together more than 550 robotics and automation vendors and a crowd of 20,000 people who were looking to automation to help overcome labor shortages, increasing demands, and disrupted supply chains. With some of the world's top robotics companies present, wheel.me stood out with their different and unique perspective of robotics and automated material handling.
Visitors highlighted the disruptive nature, flexibility and cost effectiveness of the solution with many joining the two demonstrations that the wheel.me team delivered on the AMR Stage. While the company is currently focusing on the first large installations at customer sites in the U.S., the demo offered visitors a rare opportunity to see the whole process from implementation to setup and maintenance and get inspired to come up with new use cases for automating their own processes.
Due to the increased demand in the U.S. market and the large potential in the manufacturing, automotive and logistics industries in the region, wheel.me has also announced their plan of setting up an office in the U.S. The Chief Commercial Officer of wheel.me Daniel Hessen says that entering the US market is a logical step: “We have been working with some of the biggest companies in the U.S for several years now and have seen the potential in the market first-hand. While competition in the robotics industry is tough, a lot of companies cannot resist the flexibility and cost-effectiveness that wheel.me offers compared to traditional robotics suppliers.”
Functioning as a robotics-as-a-service company, wheel.me works with companies across different sectors with success stories from logistics, manufacturing, automotive and healthcare. wheel.me offers them a simple hassle-free solution by automating manual processes and offering a flexible, cost-effective, and maintenance-free alternative to regular AGVs and AMRs.
Automate took place between June 6-9th in Detroit, Michigan.
